Our Giving Tree

Our Annual Giving Tree Is Up!

Be an angel . . . give the gift of books to a child less fortunate.

Thanks to the generosity of so many of you, together we have been able to provide books for upwards to 200 local children in need for the holidays for each of the last 20 years. You have my heartfelt thanks and we look forward to your participation again this year.

If you've never been a Book Angel before, here's how it works . . . at Island Books we have a Giving Tree trimmed with tags bearing the age and name of a local child (from the Salvation Army, the Martin Luther King Center, Lucy's Hearth, and Child & Family). All you have to do is choose a tag from the tree and select an age appropriate gift for that child. We'll then give you 10% off the book purchased, replace the tag with a star, wrap your gift and deliver it to the organization in time for distribution for the holidays. Or, if you prefer, you can make a fixed dollar contribution and we'll do the rest! It's that simple! When all the name tags are replaced with stars, our job is done. What a fun way to spread holiday cheer and literacy to someone less fortunate, it'll make you feel good, too!
