ISLAND BOOKS is a locally-owned independent bookstore serving Newport County since 1993. We offer the best in fiction, biography, history and current issues with an extensive collection of cookbooks, books for the gardener and books for the hobbyist. Mystery, poetry, art, personal growth and business are just a few of our many other sections to peruse. And, our children’s corner is chockablock full with great books for kids of all ages. If we don’t have what you’re looking for, we can get it in just a couple of days. Our booksellers know books and know how to treat our book-loving customers - stop by and see for yourself!

Our flagship store is located on the corner of Wyatt Road and East Main Road (Route 138) in a plaza called Wyatt Square. It is just north of the intersection of Route 138A (Aquidneck Ave.) and Route 138 and just south of Chaves Gardens and Newport Vineyard. When traveling on Aquidneck Island it is easy to confuse East Main (138) and West Main (114) Roads - we are on East Main Road.

Our regular hours are Monday - Friday 10 to 6, Saturday 10 to 5 and Sunday 12 to 5. 401-849-2665

Our new store in downtown Newport is located at 135 Spring Street just past historic Trinity Church. The winter hours there are Monday - Friday 11-5, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-4. 401-619-5881
